Dan and Shelley

For lack of a better title I decided on this one.  This was our last full weekend together in my apartment.  Next weekend we will be moving everything to live together finally.  I absolutely cannot wait and I’m so very happy about it, but let me tell what happened this last full weekend.

Dan came out Friday night as usual.  Originally he was going to be out earlier, but there was somethings that needed finishing up before he left.  When he got there Nicky was already asleep, but Shannon wanted to wait up for him so I let her.  She had colored him a special picture beforehand and we were in the middle of a book when he called when he was getting close.  So we stopped reading and went to wait for him at the door.  After he got in, we started to finish her book then take her to bed.  We honestly were not too long to follow her to bed and didn’t even bother to eat dinner.

Saturday I woke up with Nicky and having heard about the Pittsburgh Raddical days they had I decided to look them up and see what was going on around us that was free.  Turns out that the Boyce Mayview Park was having some little things for the children going on, like a bug nature walk, crafts and a hike.  It sounded interesting so I took the chance and woke up Dan asking him what he thought.  Of course he said alright so we got around and made our way there.  I will admit I missed the turnoff into the Park, parked in the wrong place two times, but we still found it relatively in time.  I thought it was a nice day even if Nicky was a bit grumpy and Shannon seemed to have a good time.  From there we went back home and Dan took a little nap on the couch while I cleaned up the breakfast dishes.  After another look on the free days we saw that the zoo was free on Sunday so we decided that even if we had to be up and moving early we would go.  Again, after the kids were in bed we were not far to follow.

Sunday morning came early for us, but that’s how Nicky wakes up normally.  We got ready quickly and off we went to the zoo to get there right when they opened.  The day was really rather nice and the animals more active than they were last time we were there.  Nicky of course go restless toward the end.  I took about eighty pictures of the day and some of Dan even though he was grumpy about that.  After leaving there we went back to the apartment to get Dan’s things before going over to my Mom’s house.  Over there we spent a nice afternoon talking and then eating dinner.  As always time for him to leave came way too soon, but it wasn’t that bad.  I think because we knew it wasn’t going to be but a few more days before this separation is over.  Honestly though, I still hate to see him leave.  So, there you have it, our last full weekend at the apartment here.  I know it should be a sad sort of thing to think of, but it’s not.  I’m so excited about starting our life together… about not having to be apart so very much.  I truly cannot wait.
