Time Without

Times we are forced
  to be apart
  send the worst pain
  straight to my heart.
I move along
  day to day
  not really seeing,
  not knowing what to say.
It’s as if the
  world is in shadow
  I feel so empty
  devoid of life, hallow.
With you is the
  only time I feel complete.
  When I’m with you
  there is nothing left to seek.
I’m not perfect
  and I’m not eloquent,
  I just bumble along
  to tell you how I’ve felt.
So, let’s hurry back
  to be with each other,
  for you are my one and only,
  there could never be another.

Indefinable Love

A day apart
From you my dear
Feel like forever
When we aren’t near

The things I feel
I can’t define
I love you Shelley
And you are mine

But those three words
Will never show
What I truly feel
In my heart, so

A lifetime together’s
Not near enough
Time with you
To say the stuff

That I really feel
For you my dear
All words fall short
None come near

I love your laugh
Your silliness too
The way you smile
Everything you do

There’s not one thing
That I don’t love
About you Shelley
It is all of

That I want
And ever did
And so much more
It can’t be hid

I love you Shelley
And always shall
I am your Dan
Forever and now

For My Sweet Dan

Before I knew you I had sworn
I would never fall for someone.
Why do that to myself again?
Far better to be alone.
Though, I never wanted
for it to be just me.
Who really wants that?
Nobody really, that I believe.

So I lied and said
it would be all right.
Love could never be mine,
try and try as I might.
Too much this.
Too little that.
Far too stubborn
to ever give up on a fight.

I fell for you easily,
though I didn’t let it show.
I was afraid you would
leave, if you should know.
But then, slowly at first,
we both started to drop hints.
I think it was something
that we both could sense.

Well now, now I’m hopelessly
so far in love with you.
I’m forever and always yours,
but that you already knew.
My Sweet Dan,
you are the only one I want,
my only forever,
my true love that I have sought.

My one true love
You truly must be
Sent from above

You have my heart
And my soul to
You have it all
I belong to you

There are no words
Which can explain
The love I feel
It’s all in vain

For words alone
Cannot convey
They all fall short
Of what I want to say

I wish to say
I love you dear
With all I am
And that’s sincere

You truly mean
So much to me
For it is with you
That I want to be

So ’til the day
We are as one
My love will grow
And not be undone

For nothing can change
How I feel inside
About you my dear
Not even if I tried

For that’s a fact
And always will
There’s nothing you lack
